IR Extender System

Nowadays, all audio-video equipment comes with a remote control that allows you to operate the equipment. The majority of remote controls used a command-over-infrared signal. When any button on the remote control is pressed, it sends a unique signal at a fixed frequency. When an infrared signal is received by the device, it performs a certain operation.

Features of our IR Extenders:

  • Broad operational bandwidth. Frequencies ranging from 34kHz to 60kHz are supported.
  • IR receiver and emitter modules in a small package.
  • The receiver module's built-in indicator LED gives visual feedback on remote control functionality.
  • Design that is simple to install.
  • A wide number of product versions are available to meet a wide range of application needs.

Let us explain you with a few examples:

  • Hide audio/video equipment:
    • Because an infrared signal cannot pass through any obstructions such as a wall or a partition, the remote control must always be in direct line-of-sight of the device to operate it. This imposes a significant limitation on interior design because all equipment must be situated in such a way that it is open and capable of receiving signals directly from the remote control.
    • What does it do!
      • Makes interior dcor more attractive and orderly by concealing the equipment and a slew of cables related to these devices inside furniture.
      • Dust and moisture are the leading causes of electronic product failure. We can extend the life of these equipment by hiding them inside furniture and reducing the chance of dust and moisture settling on them.
  • Share a single piece of audio/video equipment across multiple rooms:
    • WELiT IR Extender can be used to control shared equipment from each room in an application where single equipment can be shared across many rooms. In an office building, for example, a single Set top box can be shared by many TV devices located in different rooms. Each TV unit can have one IR receiver module that receives the remote control signal from the respective room and sends it to a single IR Emitter module that is installed on the set top box. This allows one to control the set top box by placing it in front of each TV and using the set top box remote control.
  • Extend the range of remote control operation:
    • WELiT IR Extender can easily enhance remote control range in applications where equipment must be controlled by IR remote control from very long distances. To extend the operating range of the remote control, multiple IR Receiver modules can be placed across a vast region. The IT Receiver module has a 180-degree IR Signal Acceptance Angle. This would allow you to utilize the remote control from any part of the room. It amplifies the weak IR signal received from the IR remote control, reducing the need to change the battery in the remote control.
